Head Varsity Coach: Brandon Horman
Brandon Horman is in his 8th year on the Jefferson basketball staff, and is entering his second season as the Head Varsity Coach. Brandon’s previous experience on the Jefferson coaching staff was spent as the sophomore assistant coach (2008/09 – 2009/10) head sophomore coach (2010/11 – 2012/13) and co-head varsity coach (2013-14). Brandon is currently a Instructional Design Strategist at Taft Middle School. He is in his first year of working at Taft after working at Wilson Middle school the past eight years. After graduating from Mt. Mercy College in 2007 he later received his M.A. in Educational Leadership from Drake University in 2011. While at Mt. Mercy, Brandon was a member of the Mount Mercy Men’s Basketball and Golf Team.
He was a 3-year varsity letter-winner in basketball and a 4-year varsity-letter winner in golf at Calamus-Wheatland High School. Brandon is a member of the schools 1,000 point club, and holds the single game, single season and career rebounding records. Brandon and his wife Jess have been married for 7 years and have a son Beckam Marshall, and are expecting another son this upcoming summer. Beckam is already starting to learn about basketball and will be a regular in attendance at the games this year. Jess is a Cardiovascular Sonographer at Mercy Cardiology Clinic. Brandon enjoys spending time with Jess, Beckam and their families. He also enjoys supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time out at the golf course.
